I have the perfect wine and summer drink for you – White Sangria made with Black Box Wines!
I am a huge fan of a good Sangria. It can’t be too sweet, or to sour or too much of anything. It just has to have a right balance.
The classic Sangria is most commonly made with red wine. Sangria translates to “bloody” which describes the rich color of the alcoholic fruit punch. However, there is no one recipe for authentic Sangria. If you google Sangria you will get hundrets of recipes and one is different from the other. You can make it as strong or sweet as you like.
White Sangria requires a white wine of course. You could use a Sauvignong Blanc as i did or a Pinot Grigio or even a Riesling if you like it on the sweeter side. If you prefer a virgin you can use white grape fruit juice.
The most classis fruit used in a Sangria are oranges, lemons, and sometimes grapes or melon. However, it is really up to you.
When you make a red Sangria it should have a small amout of brandy in it, while a white Sangria should have an orange liqueur such as Cointreau.
White Sangria
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 24 hours
Ingredients:
Ingredients
1 Bottle (750ml) white wine
1/2 Cup Cointreau or similar quality orange liqueur
1/4 Cup sugar
1 Orange, sliced
1 Lemon, sliced
2 Cups club soda
Directions:
In large pitcher or jug, combine all ingredients except club soda.
Lightly bruise fruit with a wooden spoon and stir to dissolve sugar (tip: a small amount of wine can be heated and stirred into sugar first to ensure that all granules dissolve).
Refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to mingle.
Just prior to serving, add club soda (and ice, if desired).

For this recipe i use Black Box Wines, which i have seen in the store many times but never bought. I mean who buys wine in boxes, must be bad stuff. I was so wrong. We drink wine in our house on a weekly basis and often look for wine that is good priced that is still good to drink on a regular basis. Lot of times i will get my wine from Trader Joes. But when i tasted this i was really surprised. Base on prices and quality this beats Trader Joes. Yes it did! I have to highly recommend this Black Box Wine, not only does it keep longer since you can take one glass at a time but it was just delicous for what the price is. It keeps for at least 4 weeks and one box equals 4 bottles of wines.
I tried the Merlot, Sauvignong Blanc and their Mascota dessert wine, all very delicious. I know that i no longer need to go to Trader Joes’s to get quality wine for a good price.
It’s time to think inside the box. Available in ten delicious varietals and two sizes (3L and Tetra), Black Box Wine will have you ready to lose the bottle! Black Box Wines is perfect for all your summer gatherings!
